A Visit To Lake Texoma

If you live here in north Texas, you know all about how low our lakes have been.  Usually, I get to see the receding shorelines from the air, this weekend however, I got to see them close up and personal.

I always enjoy spending time with friends near Kingston, Oklahoma on Lake Texoma.  Strategically placed, the back of their home sits on a cove overlooking the lake.

The receding shorelines of the cove.  It’s sad to see how low the water levels are.  Nevertheless, it still doesn’t take away from the beauty of the landscape.

These pictures were taken while on a golf cart ride around town.  Below, floating houses with no water to float on.

It felt deliciously creepy to know that I was standing on a floor that is usually under water and that ordinarily we wouldn’t be able to see this.

I just loved the shape of this tree.
