Small Bathroom Remodel

Remodeling a bathroom can be stressful, but the benefits are SO worth it!!

That was certainly the case with this tiny master bathroom of a 1950’s home in Garland Texas.  Although we weren’t able to change the footprint or the space, we were able to improve the functionality with just a few minor adjustments to the floor plan.

For starters, we changed the location of the door into the bathroom.  This allowed us to change the shower location to the other side of the room (where the toilet had been) and increase the shower size almost two-fold.

This also allowed us to use a double vanity, a must for a master bathroom!  In keeping with our goal to increase functionality, we opted to use this transitional vanity from the Scott Living collection (as in Drew & Jonathan Scott) at Lowes.  It beautifully maximizes the storage space.

Because it was such a small bathroom, white was the perfect choice to keep the space bright and open. But that didn’t mean it needed to be boring, tile had a big part in the transformation. Playing with tile configurations is one of my favorite things. Well placed, tile can create magic.

Hope I’ve inspired…
