A Quaint Backyard Patio

Now that the weather is getting cooler, we’ll be spending a lot more time outside, making this a great time to spruce up your outdoor space, which is exactly what we did in this quaint backyard patio.

Before

Sometimes, we don’t pay as much attention to the outdoor living areas, but just like our interiors, it’s important to create the right “feeling” for maximum comfort, relaxation and fun!

For this patio, the client’s request was clear and simple…”we want it to be fun, a party area”, so we went bold on the colors , infusing vibrant shades of blues and greens.

As with most entertaining areas, seating was an important consideration, so we brought in an additional love seat and chairs.   We also used 2 resin storage boxes for storing the cushions when necessary.  Standard bench cushions were placed on top and the storage boxes now serve double duty…storage and overflow seating.

Lighting is always an important element, and while overhead lights are necessary and functional, mood lighting makes the most difference!   For this patio, the client wanted the fun and festive feel that string lights bring to the outdoors.  We selected a grape motif….they’re avid wine drinkers.  The light strands are clusters of red and green grapes.  Each grape has an LED light inside so you can imagine how pretty they look when they’re all lit.

Additional mood lighting was also provided by the addition of 4 beautiful iron candle sconces.

Remember, now’s the time to take advantage of all the outdoor furniture sales.  Spruce up your outdoor space and enjoy the fall!!  Of course, call me if you need any help!

Hope I’ve inspired!
