My Father’s Garden

My grandparents (on my father’s side) were native of the Canary Islands.  They migrated to Cuba for dreams of a better life, and they raised 8 children by living off the land.

To this day, my dad continues to love the thrill he gets from nurturing and harvesting the land.  When I was growing up, the back yard was always alive with growth…..lemon trees, orange trees, beets, yams… Today, not much has changed.
