Today, a home office is practically a necessity in most homes. Even if you don’t work from home, you’ll probably spend many hours a week in that room. As such, this room provides a unique opportunity to decorate with things that you love and that inspire your creativity.

That’s exactly what this home owner had in mind when she asked me to design a home office for her husband; a man who loves everything sports, and has accumulated a variety of sports art and memorabilia. This was the room before we started, a basic 11′ X 12′ room.
Now the room has been painted floor-to-ceiling with the perfect shade of smoky blue to accentuate the homeowner’s collection.

Often, a home office needs to serve double duty as a guest bedroom. That was the case with this room. But how often do you actually use the spare bedroom? For this home owner, the answer was “rarely”, so it was more practical to concentrate on the office function instead.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a spare bedroom! Although a sofa sleeper is an obvious choice, for this space we installed a Murphy bed, which is a perfect space saver; allowing us to incorporate many functions in the room without it feeling cluttered.
Hope I’ve Inspired!
